Randy Nehila is an artist whose Three Cats Gallery is online at http://tresgatos.us. He has had several exhibits of his work in Boston, Mass, US. While primarily a painter, he has recently begun to work in various media exploring issues surrounding memory and identity formation. The self-portrait used in this piece began as a charcoal study for a separate project. This was photocopied and a transfer print made, which was then worked with watercolour and gouache. He recently received a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and has a studio in Roslindale, MA,US.

Pauline Masurel is a fiction writer, mainly of short and fragmented forms. Her website is at http://unfurling.net. She has written for print and radio as well as online distribution, and has often worked in collaboration with other writers and artists. Her interest in creative recycling informed this work, in which she combined Randy's self-portait with selected snippets from his emails to produce an animation that questions identity and voice. She lives in Bath, UK and is studying for an MA in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University College.
